England Futsal stars to represent Argyle at TST

Argyle have strengthened David Norris and Jamie Lowry’s TST (The Soccer Tournament) squad by signing four of England’s best futsal players. 

Jake Barnes, Jordan Edge and Tomas Uniatowicz represent Manchester Futsal while Joe Payne plays for Bolton Futsal Club, with all four having represented the national team.

Manchester Futsal Club are the reigning English Futsal champions, and Argyle have worked collaboratively with the team to find the players with the right profiles and attributes to complement the squad further. 

Head Player Coach Norris said: “We wanted to incorporate an element of futsal to our squad with TST being a 7v7 tournament that is high intensity and fast paced. 

“We have worked closely with Simon Wright from Manchester Futsal and visited the club's coaching sessions in Manchester to strengthen the squad but also look at varying tactics and approaches we can take to matches.

“They have been extremely receptive to supporting our efforts and given all of the player's commitments for their club and the national team we have been really impressed with their co-operation. 

“We are really pleased to welcome all four players to the Argyle squad and look forward to seeing what impact they can have on the pitch when we get to North Carolina in June.”

TST (The Soccer Tournament) is a $1m winner-takes-all event and takes place at WakeMed Soccer Park from 4 to 9 June, with the likes of Villarreal, Borussia Dortmund and AFC Bournemouth also competing.
