Argyle win third consecutive Gold Award for Family Excellence

Argyle have, once again, been awarded Gold in the EFL's Family Excellence scheme, based on two visit reports across the 2024/25 campaign.

The club have been recognised for providing an excellent experience for families and first-time fans, stating that there are plenty of reasons for families to return to Home Park. It is the third season in a row that Argyle have been awarded Gold by the EFL.

The EFL’s report goes on to highlight the pre-match fan and travel guides published online, for the level of detail provided, which give a good first impression of the club, make supporters feel welcome, and allow them to plan their first visit. They say the Biffa Fan Zone stands out on match day, with live music and activities for kids providing a memorable pre-match experience.

The Family Excellence Scheme assesses the family experience that EFL clubs provide, and awards them with Gold, Silver or Bronze status (introduced for the first time in 2023/24) for the quality of their match day experience across a range of touchpoints including ticket purchase, match-day entertainment,  accessibility, facilities and communications.

For another consecutive year, a record number of EFL clubs have achieved Family Excellence recognition, with 18 Clubs receiving Gold status, as several clubs progressed from Bronze to Silver recognition.

Visitor Experience Manager Dan Pippen commented: "We are delighted to have been awarded Gold status once again in the EFL's Family Excellence Scheme for 2024/25.

"As a fan-focused club, providing our supporters with high-quality matchday experiences is crucial, and to be awarded Gold for the third consecutive season reflects the incredibly hard work from everyone across the club to deliver that for our fans.

"We will continue to look for ways to improve the matchday experience so that our supporters can enjoy many more special visits to Home Park next season and beyond."

EFL Chief Executive, Trevor Birch  said:  “We are incredibly proud of the effort all our clubs put in to ensure the match-day experience is a welcoming and enjoyable one for all families.

"To see more clubs than ever before receive Family Excellence recognition is testament to the unforgettable day out our clubs work hard to deliver for families up and down the country. The scheme is designed to support Clubs and we have seen it help them to expand their ever-growing fanbases and attract the next generation of supporters.”
