Roisin Kivel signs for Argyle Women

Roisin Kivel has joined Argyle ahead of the 2025/26 FAWNL Southern Premier Division campaign.

Having played for Stoke City for over a decade, the versatile defender follows head coach Marie Hourihan in making a move to the South West.

In 30 appearances last season, Kivel provided one assist and scored three goals, helping the Potters reach the FAWNL Cup final and finish third in the Northern Premier Division.

Much like Arabella Suttie, who has also joined the Pilgrims from Stoke, 24-year-old Kivel featured in the semi-final game at Home Park against Argyle last campaign.

Head Coach Hourihan said: “Securing the signing of a key leader like Roisin was something we couldn’t pass up on. Working with her at Stoke, I was able to see her shine and I’m sure that her ability on the ball and leadership will be key for our success in this tough upcoming season.”

Christian Kent, Executive Lead for Women’s Football at Argyle said: “Roisin is a player we felt would not only strengthen the team but also provide experience to the squad. Her leadership last season was something we identified as a key component of her overall game.”

The signing is subject to league and FA approval.
