2025/26 Sky Bet League One fixtures released
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE FOLLOWING FIXTURES ARE A DRAFT SCHEDULE FOR THE SEASON, AND SEVERAL AMENDMENTS ARE POSSIBLE.
---
The last time Argyle were in Sky Bet League One, the season started with a 1-0 home win against Barnsley, before the Greens went on to amass 101 points, and win the division.
As the fixtures for the 2025/26 were released, eagle eyes spotted that the repeat fixture was the one to kick us off.
The Pilgrims will meet Conor Hourihane's Barnsley at home on Saturday, 2 August, at 3pm. The game will be broadcast live on Sky Sports+.
The first away league trip of the season is to Bolton Wanderers, managed by former Greens boss Steven Schumacher, before an away game at Lincoln City the following week. August concludes with a double header of home games, against Leyton Orient and Blackpool, before we head to Cardiff City.
The season will conclude on Saturday, 2 May, with Argyle’s final opponents being Northampton Town, away.
The festive period sees Argyle at home on Boxing Day for the first time since 2016. Reading will be the visitors, and they will be followed by Wycombe Wanderers, who come to Home Park on 29 December. New Year’s Day is a trip to Stevenage.
The team in League One that Argyle have not played for the longest time are Stockport County. They visit us on Saturday, 6 September, with the return journey coming on Saturday, 31 January.
The longest trip of the season is to Bradford City, a 658-mile round trip, which occurs on Saturday, 28 March. The Bantams visit Home Park on Saturday, 15 November.
At Easter, Argyle will face the two teams that kicked off their season. Bolton come to Devon on Good Friday, 3 April, with a trip to Barnsley in store on Easter Monday, 6 April.
Argyle’s opening game in the Carabao Cup, which will take place in the midweek after the Bolton game, will be determined when the draw is made later on Thursday, 26 June. Similarly, the Vertu Trophy line-up and fixtures will be determined later this day.
This fixture list is still provisional. Some games will have a revised kick-off time because of police advice, clubs’ agreement or television selections.
By 3 July, 2025, all TV selections to the end of September will have been agreed and announced.
By 31 July, 2025, this will be extended to all televised fixtures up to the third round of the Emirates FA Cup, in January.
By 7 November, all television selections to the end of February will be announced. After this, it will be done on a rolling basis.
